The day commenced on a patriotic note with a grand Republic Day Parade, which was followed by the Sports Inauguration Ceremony, setting an inspiring tone for the celebrations.
A special highlight of this year’s event was the introduction of the Rolling Trophy as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations. Instituted to commemorate this significant milestone, the trophy added a heightened sense of purpose and competitive spirit to the meet. After a series of closely contested events and tough competition from all participating institutions, NHCE proudly emerged as the winner of the Rolling Trophy.
The event fostered a spirit of healthy competition. The event infused the campus with energy and excitement, offering a welcome respite from routine professional commitments. The staff participated with immense enthusiasm, demonstrating remarkable sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the day.
Organised with a strong focus on the health and well-being of the staff, the Sports Day effectively reinforced the enduring belief that health is indeed wealth. The thoughtfully curated programme featured a wide array of sporting events, including cricket, badminton, shot put, tug of war, relay races, football, volleyball, table tennis, chess, carrom, throw ball, sack race, and the ever-popular lemon-and-spoon race.
Many participants fondly remarked that the games evoked memories of their school days, allowing them to relive cherished moments from their childhood. These shared experiences sparked lively conversations and strengthened interpersonal connections among colleagues. The events brought forth the inner child in the participants, revealing a lighter, joyful, and spirited side of the institution’s staff.
Even those who were unable to participate actively attended the venue to cheer on their colleagues, further enhancing the sense of camaraderie and collective enthusiasm. Overall, the Annual Staff Sports Day Meet 2026 served as a meaningful platform for bonding, rejuvenation, and gave a positive outlook towards physical fitness and holistic well-being, while also commemorating the institution’s Silver Jubilee in a truly spirited manner.
