 “Experience New Horizon with a Twist”

On February 11th, 2023, parents of engineering students were invited to the college event “Experience New Horizon with a Twist.”

New Horizon College of Engineering has provided the opportunity for parents to relive their one day college life.

The event started by welcoming the parents and was followed by a presentation given by the Dean-Academics. She gave an overview of NHCE with regard to academics. She has  highlighted some of the points in brief, namely, Autonomy in academics and curriculum design, NEP based curriculum, Skill based open electives at Centre of Excellence, Value added professional courses, and Verticals in  professional electives.

The Head-Corporate Relations & Placements, briefed on how NHCE students made Industry ready in 4 years.  He briefed the current situation in the industry, what Industry expectation and how the placement department trains NHCE students in current technology. He also emphasized that the placement department motto is 100% placement for the students.

The parents were then given a tour of the campus, including the centre of excellence for each department, where classes are held, and how students can benefit from industry labs, which are CISCO Lab, Fanuc Lab, HP Vertica, VM ware, Capgemini(industry4.0), Lab Big Data Lab, IBM Lab, as well as tutoring and study group opportunities in the core labs for ECE, ME, Civil, EEE, Physics/Chemistry, DEM lab, and Schneider Lab.

After lunch, parents were taken to a play area, in which various fun activities were conducted by the Life skills department.

The parents were grateful for the college resources for study and entertainment, including its immersive library, experiential labs, intensive and interesting life skills modules, retreats at busy on-campus cafeterias, and sports and other activities related to health and fitness. They were pleased that their children had access to cutting-edge technology, which enables them to improve their talents in their area of expertise.

The parents also praised us for giving them all the information they required regarding admission to placements, so they could be well educated about NHCE.
