The New Horizon College of Engineering and The New Horizon College jointly commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2025 to honor the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War of 1999.

The program began with a warm welcome extended to the Principals, Executive Directors, Directors, Deans, CoE, Heads of Departments, Faculty Members, and Students. A special mention was made of the bravery of Captain Vikram Batra, Lieutenant Manoj Kumar Pandey, Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, and many other heroes who exemplified courage and dedication to the nation.

To honor the martyrs, a one-minute silence was observed by all present, followed by the symbolic lighting of the candle of respect as a tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation.

A soulful patriotic song was rendered by a teacher, Ms. Indrani Mukherjee, evoking a deep sense of pride and gratitude among the audience. The famous words of Captain Vikram Batra, “Either I will come back after hoisting the Tricolor, or I will come back wrapped in it—but I will come back for sure,” were recalled, leaving everyone inspired and emotional.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the entire gathering standing in unison for the National Anthem, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values of freedom and patriotism. The event served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our armed forces and instilled a sense of duty, respect, and national pride among students and faculty alike.
