With Rama in Every Step

As a part of the institution’s tradition of recognising and celebrating the service of its staff members, both the teaching and non-teaching staff, right from the watchmen, the ayyamas, to the executive directors, the professors, New Horizon has sent everyone on a sacred yatra.

The Yatra was completely organised by Chairman, Dr. Mohan Manghnani. In keeping with the institution’s spirit of inclusivity and togetherness, food, accommodation, and other arrangements were the same for all, irrespective of designation. The Yatra thus became not only a spiritual journey but also an opportunity for colleagues to connect beyond their professional roles and share a memorable experience. In a reflective interaction, Dr. Monica Gupta and Dr. Ishani Mishra, both members of the teaching faculty, shared their personal experiences of the Yatra.

For Dr. Monica Gupta, the journey was deeply spiritual and felt like a divine experience. She returned feeling spiritually enriched, with the darshan in Ayodhya leaving a particularly profound impression on her. Having heard about Ram Janmabhoomi for years, being there in person and experiencing the sacred space was, in her words, a life-changing moment.

“The Yatra made my connect with Lord Rama that much stronger. While we were trying to attend the Ganga Aarti, there was a drizzle, and the boatmen informed us that the water level was a little high. Despite the circumstances, we were fortunate to witness the Aarti. Overall, the experience is one that I will treasure for life.”

For Dr. Ishani Mishra, on the other hand, the journey offered its own collection of cherished moments. Her visit to Assi Ghat in Kashi was particularly memorable, while the experiences in both Ayodhya and Kashi left a lasting impression. Beyond the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage, she valued the opportunity to discover a different dimension of her colleagues.

She reflected that travelling together, praying together and sharing experiences helped her bond with her colleagues in a more personal way and understand them beyond their professional identities. The spiritual ambience of the Yatra touched her deeply, while the lighter moments of the journey added to its warmth.

With a thoughtful smile, she recalled, “The shopping experience was completely hassle-free. No one was rushing us or telling us to hurry. My colleagues even helped me choose and approved many of the sarees. We were happy praying together and shopping together. The discounts we received while shopping were an added delight!”

The Ayodhya–Kashi Yatra therefore became much more than a journey to two of India’s most revered spiritual destinations. For the faculty, it was an opportunity for reflection, devotion, and companionship. The shared experiences from the serenity of the ghats and the magnificence of the Ganga Aarti to conversations, prayers and moments of laughter created memories that will remain with them long after the journey ended.

The Ayodhya-Kashi Yatra stands as a beautiful reminder that when people journey together, they return not only with memories of places visited, but also with deeper bonds, renewed perspectives and a sense of shared gratitude.
