The National Youth Parliament Festival has been reimagined as the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, a platform for young minds to share their ideas and vision for Viksit Bharat @2047, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. This initiative offers youth a unique opportunity to express their perspectives on the nation’s development and contribute to shaping its future. It was organized by the NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and held at Bangalore University on 20th and 21st March 2025.
Participation Process
Interested candidates were asked to register their profiles on the MY Bharat Portal by clicking the ‘APPLY NOW’ button. Upon completing their profiles, participants submitted a one-minute video on the topic, “What does Viksit Bharat mean to you?”. This video formed the basis for eligibility in the District Nodal Round. The Bangalore Urban nodal center covered the districts of Ramanagara and Tumkur.
First Round – Speech Competition
The first round of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament – Speech Competition was held at Bangalore University on 20th and 21st March 2025. From New Horizon College of Engineering, NSS volunteers Vivek Y (1NH22ME062) and Divakar D (1NH22ME018) were selected to participate in this round. Their selection was based on the quality and impact of their one-minute video presentations submitted as part of the nodal center evaluation process.
The event served as an inspiring platform for youth to voice their thoughts, engage in democratic dialogue, and contribute towards the nation’s vision of becoming a developed country by 2047.
