We are pleased to share that the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science at New Horizon College of Engineering successfully organized the State-level Inter-Collegiate Sports Fest under the title New Horizon Cup 2023. The tournament was held from December 27th to 29th, 2023, and attracted participants from engineering colleges across the state.

The opening ceremony of the New Horizon Cup 2023 was graced by Ms. Bharathi B L, an International Athlete and Vice President of the Karnataka Athletic Association. The event was also attended by Dr. Manjunatha, Principal of NHCE, H N Surya Prakash, Registrar of NHCE, and Ms. Manjula, Executive Director of the HR Department, along with other distinguished dignitaries from NHCE.

Over 60 engineering colleges participated in the event, with approximately 2000 athletes coming from all corners of the state. The competition spanned three days and featured a variety of sports disciplines.

The tournaments were conducted across six major sports categories:

Basketball (Men & Women), Football (Men), Volleyball (Men), Kabaddi (Men), Throwball (Men)

The Valedictory Ceremony for the New Horizon Cup 2023 took place on December 29th, 2023, at 5:30 PM at the Outdoor Basketball Court. The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Manjunatha, Principal of New Horizon College of Engineering, who joined the closing celebrations and presented the awards.

The New Horizon Cup 2023 was a grand success, showcasing the talent, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm of the students. It provided a platform for budding athletes to demonstrate their skills and further solidified NHCE’s commitment to promoting physical education and sports in engineering colleges.
