Faculty Workshop – An Experiential Journey to Inner Balance
The Department of Counselling, in collaboration with the Skill Development Centre, organised a full-day faculty workshop titled “Express, Exhale, Evolve – Self-Nourishment Session” on 28 February 2026 at the CDC Training Centre. The workshop focused on emotional expression, mental relaxation, and holistic well-being for faculty members.
In the morning, Ms. Deepthi M Pandit led an immersive Mandala Art Therapy session, highlighting art as a powerful tool for mindfulness and emotional release. Participants explored broad, intricate, and self-created mandalas that encouraged calmness, creativity, and self-awareness. A reflective spiritual mandala activity further promoted introspection and personal growth. Faculty members reported feeling deeply relaxed and mentally refreshed after the session.
In the afternoon, Dr. Aravinda K conducted a practical session on pranayama and holistic lifestyle wellness. Participants learned various breathing techniques such as Mudra-based pranayama, Savitri pranayama, and Mahatya pranayama, experiencing immediate relaxation benefits. The session also offered guidance on nutrition, mindful eating, hydration, and simple Ayurvedic remedies for preventive health. Faculty members appreciated the practical nature of the wellness strategies shared.
The workshop fostered emotional balance, physical vitality, and a strong sense of community among participants. Overall, the initiative successfully reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being and stress-free living among educators.
