ALUMNI TALK ON TECHNOLOGY DEMYSTIFIED

Alumni Association & Department of Applied Sciences organized an Alumni talk series on 28th July 2023 at 10 AM. The topic was “Technology Demystified” by Mr. Krishnav B Dave, Director – Data Science (BU Head) Skill Lync, & Alumni of NHCE (Batch: 2005-2009).

Mr. Krishnav began his session with an introduction to Digital Technology Demystified & how the digital world operates and works. Technology assumes a core part of our day-to-day lives; it has made more significant progress in terms of Technology, owing to its rapid progress and Technology taking over every area, be it Education, Healthcare, Construction, Banking, Aerospace, Entertainment, Space, Communication, Business, Product and Food Technology, Vehicle Technology, Military, Sports, Marine, Agriculture, Industrial, and Manufacturing, etc.

Technology Demystified series will breakdown technologies into their simplest forms and provide insight into how they benefit the business and some of how Technology is impacting significant areas like the Aviation Industry; Technology has dramatically improved the safety of aviation, for example, advanced sensors and computer systems can monitor an aircraft’s systems in real-time and alert pilots of any potential problems. Banking Industry, Technology has enabled banks to offer different banking services via mobile apps. These apps help users check and compare savings account interest rates, check their account balances, review transaction history, transfer money, make bill payments, and even apply for loans and investments. The money transfer system allows customers to conduct financial transactions utilizing cashless payment methods, with choices from many banks and multiple currencies.

He spoke about the Future of Technology, where advances in digital technologies hold considerable potential to lift the trajectory of productivity and economic growth and to create new and better jobs to replace old ones as much as two-thirds of potential productivity growth in major economies over the next decade could be related to the latest digital technologies.

He also discussed on Importance of Artificial intelligence (AI) in today’s life; AI is transforming various aspects of modern life, from healthcare to entertainment and from transportation to education. The Technology offers many benefits, such as increased efficiency, improved accuracy, and enhanced personalization. AI is essential for developing digital literacy; critical thinking skills will prepare students for future academic and career success. A basic understanding of AI systems enables students to engage and ideate with AI technologies safely, responsibly, and ethically.

Finally, he gave a few valuable tips to students on choosing the right career path; students have to choose between different elective components to decide their area of specialization. Today, there is a diverse range of options for Technology.

The session was practical, giving clear information & instructions to students to widen their knowledge of Technology demystified.
