ALUMNI TALK ON REACHING BEYOND THE HORIZON
The Alumni Association and Department of Applied Sciences organized an Alumni talk series on July 4, 2023, at NHCE Auditorium. The topic was “Reaching Beyond the Horizon” by Ms. Bhavana Savanth, an Alumni of NHCE (Batch 2015–2019).
Ms. Bhavana motivated her juniors by sharing her experiences in the college as a student. She encouraged her juniors to stay engaged in various activities like Extracurricular activities, Co-curricular activities, sports, etc. as well as external events. She explained that activities are an essential part of a well-rounded education. These activities enable students to apply academic skills in a real-world context.
She discussed the value of Training and placements. At present, the competition for employment is increasing every day, and placement has become a challenging task. To meet these requirements, along with technical expertise, the development of a holistic personality is also necessary.
She also spoke about a satellite project that was done during her college days. And between her talks, she tested the students knowledge through riddles, which not only tested their observation skills but also their logical thinking and reasoning abilities.
She gave insights on developing business ideas, converting them into a Startup, and pursuing entrepreneurship as a career opportunity. This inspired the students to connect deeper with the world of entrepreneurship and hone their skills.
She motivated the students to pursue higher education, like an MBA or MS, which plays a key role in society. It helps students to develop various skills and knowledge in which they need to succeed in today’s world. It also helps to prepare them for the workforce.
