DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT: 74th Republic day was celebrated on 26th January 2023. The event started with Flag hoisting by Dr. R Bodhisatvan, Dr. Basavaraj, Group Captain (Retd.,) Mr. Tarun Batra and Mr. H N SuryaPrakash followed by National Anthem. The diginitries were given Guard of Honour by the college NCC baton led by Abhishek. Ms. Prashansa, I year BE computer science student gave a brief talk on the importance of the Republic Day. Presidential address was delivered by Dr. R Bodhisatvan, Principal – New Horizon College, Marthahalli. The event concluded with sweet distribution to all the participants. Around 600 students, faculty members, teaching and non-teaching members were present for the event.

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED: Collage making competition conducted by clubs of Applied Sciences department, Genesis and Math Horizon. Topic: India from 1950 to 2023. Around 20 teams participated in the competition. The collages were judged by Prof. Devaranjan and Prof. Sunitha of Department of Life Skills and Life Long Learning.

Description of the Event:

The Math Horizon and Genesis Clubs organised a series of events on account of National Youth Day. Starting a day prior to the nationally acclaimed event, all the students prepared a colour code for the next 3 days. 11^th January observed peace and tranquillity in the form of a white colour code. All the students of 1^st Year, B.E enthusiastically participated by showing up dressed in white. The following days observed blue and green, symbolising inspiration and youth respectively. The dress code for 12^th January was blue and 13^th January was green.

A portrait sketching competition of Swami Vivekananda was also held on the 12^th of January 2023. All classes displayed various artistically, and skilfully made portraits of Swami Vivekananda on this auspicious day.

A guest talk was also conducted on the same day, 12^th January, by Mr. Pramod NG on the account of National Youth Day. Being held in the main auditorium from 3pm to 4pm, there were 400 students present for the lecture. The students were enlightened about the great life of one of India’s best visionaries, Sri Swami Vivekananda, and his teachings towards the modern younger generations. Filled with entertaining information, the students were enthusiastic to learn about Swami Vivekananda and his significant contributions towards the youth of our nation.

On the 13^th of January 2023, National Youth Day was observed in college with exciting activities as well as competitions such as a banner presentation competition was held for the students to bring awareness to this day and its significance.

Classes were enthusiastic and prepared detailed and entertaining banners that brought light to serious topics such as drug abuse, mental illnesses, sexual harassment, environmental issues, corruption, illiteracy, poverty, and pollution. Each class put their heads together to come up with unique ideas for the banners and take pictures with them within the campus.

Last but not the least, a Tug Of War Tournament was held on the 13^th January 2023 for the 1^st year students, leading to a day well spent in the sun and enjoying activities that allowed for the spirit of youth to blossom amidst young and creative minds.

National Youth Day 2023 was spent paying homage to Sri Swami Vivekananda’s ideologies and keeping alive the spirit he aimed to imbibe on this joyous and inspiring day.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering Extremely happy to inform that, in association with Computer Society of India, we are hosting a 2 day National Level Intercollegiate Hackathon on 05.Jan.2023 & 06.Jan.2023.

This is a hybrid Hackathon conducted for all engineering students to experience the process of generating software solutions to the real world problems and discovering hacks to implement it. The objective is to promote innovative thinking and to enhance the employability skills.

Along with the Hackathon, we have lined up tech talks and exciting events.

The Evolve.AI Club will be conduct an interactive Inter-Departmental event “Down n’ Across”. This event will have the concept of crosswords embedded with technical questions, snakes and ladders, and multiple questions related to hard skills to advance to the next round. The event will be based on the analytical and technical skills of all the participants while they’re all in the holiday cheer. The motive of this event is to enhance the analytical logical of students to see how fast they are in solving the problems in a limited amount of time, hence establishing the motive of our club within the event

BIT Fest 2.0 is an event that aims to promote the importance of technology and pop culture and how both have affected the advancement of one another throughout history. Pop Culture has more than often predicted and influenced the future of technological advancements. Technology incorporates cultural exchange between people and promotes globalization. There would be a technical workshop on the first day that would help us gain knowledge on technical development and taxation. There would be an event with three sub rounds on the second day promoting how to develop business strategies.

Day 1 will also consist of two workshops, a workshop on technical development titled “Technovation” followed by a workshop on taxation in India titled “Monopoly”. Day 2 will consist of three sub-rounds, a story building round name “Contrive” with technical keywords which is followed by an Anti thesis round named “Paradox” and lastly the “Sus & Sell” round where the participants identify an object and persuade the panel members to buy it using their business strategies.
