BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January 2025. Dr Manjunatha – Principal NHCE, Dr. R Bodhisatvan – Principal NHCM, Mr. H N Surya Prakash – Registrar were welcomed at the flag post by Mr. Hari Kumar KC, Head of Physical Education and Sports.

NCC Cadets presented a guard of honor, followed by the National Anthem. Mr. Aadiseshan Sivakumar from 3rd year BE Information Science Engineering and Ms. Ishmita Menon from 3rd year BE Computer Engineering shared the significance of Republic Day, emphasizing unity, sacrifices of freedom fighters, and constitutional ideals.

Dr. Manjunatha, Principal of NHCE, delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking speech during the Republic Day celebration. He emphasized the importance of Republic Day and the Constitution’s role in shaping the nation. He urged students to uphold values like justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity while contributing to nation-building through innovation, hard work, and ethics. Dr. Manjunatha, Principal of NHCE, concluded his address by encouraging everyone to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence, both as individuals and as a collective, to contribute to a brighter and stronger India.

The FOSS Club of the Department of MCA organized two inspiring events on the 17th of January 2025 to mark the celebration of Republic Day; “Frames of Freedom”, a reel-making competition showcasing India’s cultural diversity and patriotic fervor, “Patriotism through Art”, a design making competition where creativity met love for the nation, reflecting unity and pride. During the celebrations, the winners of the competitions were felicitated by the dignitaries with awards.

The cultural segment showcased music by team “Aalaap” (NHCM) and a patriotic medley by “12thNote” (NHCE). Dance performances included a vibrant patriotic act by NHCE Dance Club and a captivating unity-themed performance by team “Avinya” (NHCM), showcasing talent, tradition, and national pride.

The event concluded with anchors Mr. Aadhi and Ms. Ishmita expressing gratitude on behalf of the organizers. Approximately 600 attendees, including students, faculty members, and teaching and non-teaching staff, participated in the event.

The celebrations were wrapped up with a message of unity and patriotism, followed by the distribution of sweets.

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED: Competitions by FOSS Club – REEL MAKING and POSTER DESIGN with the theme “Patriotism and Indian Culture”.
