The Teachers’ Day celebrations at New Horizon College of Engineering was celebrated on September 5th 2026. The staff took their seat and waited with bated breath for the arrival of their beloved Chairman, Dr. Mohan Manghnani. As soon as Chairman arrived, he was welcomed with a standing ovation. The Chairman was accompanied by the President of New Horizon Educational Institution, Mr. Dhermesh Manghnani, Dr. Manjunatha, Principal of New Horizon College of Engineering, the Principal of New Horizon College, Marathahalli, Dr. Bodhisatvan, and the Executive Directors of New Horizon Educational Institution. The team was welcomed by the Masters of Ceremony, Ms Lipsa Dash and Arathi Hudiya. The lamp-lighting ceremony was conducted. The Chairman and the team offered a floral tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.  

The 25-year Long Service Award was presented to Ms. Sreeja S. P., Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Master of Computer Applications, and Mr. H. R. Rajesh, Assistant Registrar, Department of Examinations, in recognition of their remarkable 25-year association with the Institution. The awardees were felicitated with a shawl, garland, dry fruit bowl, citation, and cheque as tokens of appreciation. 

The 10-year Long Service Awards recognised staff members from New Horizon College of Engineering and New Horizon College, Marathahalli, representing academic, non-teaching, and technical departments. The awardees were presented with a certificate frame, memento, and silver gift item in appreciation of their dedicated service and valuable contribution to the Institution. 

The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of 37 Research Excellence Awards, recognising significant contributions to research and scholarly activities, and 28 Academic Excellence Awards, honouring faculty members for their outstanding academic achievements and commitment to teaching and learning. 

The Chairman spoke to the staff members. He spoke about how teachers are helping mould the future, not only of the students but also of the nation. He mentioned the National Award recipient, Dr Radha Rajesh, New Horizon Public School, and spoke of her contribution, not only to New Horizon but how her work was recognised nation-wide as she bagged the award from the President of India and had high tea with the Prime Minister, Modiji as well at the National Teachers Award Ceremony. He motivated all the teachers to aspire for their highest potential and thanked the teachers for their efforts in making New Horizon what it is in the present day. He emphasised the fact that we need to create a set of students who are not mere employees but employers.  

The Chairman, Dr Mohan Manghnani wanted all New Horizonite Students to be “Job Makers than mere Job Seekers”. Just when the teaching audience applauded his inspiring and high-energy speech, the Chairman of New Horizon Educational Institution made the grand announcement, “All staff members of New Horizon will be sent on a Yatra next year.” The teaching staff cheered in immense happiness.  

The Teachers’ Day Gift Distribution was conducted by the President of New Horizon Educational Institution, Mr. Dhermesh Manghnani, and he handed over the gift to each staff member with utmost patience. The Masters of Ceremony gave their vote of thanks. The staff members stood up in patriotic reverence for the National Anthem. A snack box was distributed to all the staff members. Teachers were also seen taking selfies to cherish the memorable day.
