PHD AND M.SC (ENGG) BY RESEARCH

Those who wish to pursue PhD or MSc (Engg.) through research at NHCE can apply twice in a year through the VTU Notifications (June/February). Applications are invited for registration to PhD/MSc (Engg) By Research Programmes under Full time/Part time Research Programmes through notification for registration to research programmes of VTU. Interested candidates may apply for registration through VTU Selection Process (Research Aptitude Test [Entrance Examination] followed by an Interview) to pursue their PhD/MSc (Engg) By Research at NHCE which is a Recognized Research Centre of VTU and also an Affiliated College.

Application form can be downloaded from the website www.vtu.ac.in. However, the interested candidates need to mention the name of proposed Research Supervisor available to Guide the PhD/MSc (Engg) By Research candidates at the Recognized Research Centre (NHCE) and also the proposed title (tentative) of the research/area of interest etc. Kindly visit the concerned Department and interact with PhD Supervisors/Guides available at our Departments then submit your Application to VTU along with necessary details with the consent of the proposed Supervisor/Guide.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

Department of Computer Science & Engineering is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center which carries out research activities that include “Performance Analysis of HCNF Algorithm”. The project evaluates the performance of a non-preemptive heuristic algorithm called Heterogeneous Critical Node First (HCNF) that statically schedules directed a-cyclic task graphs on heterogeneous multiprocessor systems to minimize the make span.

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

Department of Information Science & Engineering is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center that is actively involved in research activities and the publishing of papers. Current projects include “Audio/Video based Navigation tool for Visually Impaired” and “Design & Implementation of labor robots for agriculture and industry”.

As a part of research many papers have been published in the international and national conference/Journals. The department has received grants from AICTE for conducting research activity.

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Department of Mechanical Engineering is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center that conducts research activity to ensure that the students are up to date to the new technologies and are in line with the requirement of current industries standards. The research work focuses on areas such as composite materials, turbo machinery, design & development of equipments, finite element analysis, heat & mass transfer and computational fluid dynamics. The department has also taken on projects on “brush seals for gas turbine engines”, “air borne wind tunnel”, “Metal forming with FDM tooling”, “Composite soluble core tooling by FDM process” , “Impact strength enhancement of ABS plastic”, “Study of mechanical properties of Aluminium 2024 based hybrid composites”, Unconventional Electricity generation” to name a few. Some of these research programmes have already received grants from AICTE, Institute of Engineers INDIA and DRDO.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

Department of Computer Applications is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center. The current research areas are: Object Modeling using design pattern, image processing, intelligent computing, Human Computer Interaction and Virtualization.

DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

Department of Management Studies is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center. The Department is actively engaged in research and consulting activities. The senior faculty members are guiding Doctoral candidates in the areas of MARKETING, HR, FINANCE and Entrepreneurship Development.

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

Department of Chemistry is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center that carries out several research work in collaboration and through external funding. The key thrust areas of research include Electro Chemistry, Sensors, Photo Catalysis, Analytical Chemistry, Kinetic Studies and Nanotechnology.

DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

Department of Mathematics is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center. The Department actively involved in research work in the area of fluid mechanics.

Dress Code

The following dress code must be adhered to by the students at all times within the campus premises: Both Boys and Girls must dress in smart casuals. The dress code must be strictly adhered to. The college reserves the right to restrict the entry of students not following the dress code.
