On December 5th, 2024, Aaptha Salaha Kendra (ASK) conducted a Peer Counselling Training session at NHCE, Bangalore, for first-year engineering student representatives. The session aimed to equip students with foundational skills in peer counselling, focusing on active listening, empathy, and emotional support. Facilitated by experienced counsellors and professionals, the program addressed adolescent issues, the role of peer support, and the emotional challenges faced by young adults. While the training offered valuable theoretical insights and engaging discussions, participants noted a need for more hands-on practice and structured role-play to strengthen real-life application of peer counselling skills.
