Lord Rama stands as the enduring ideal of Maryada, as a pillar of selfless duty, guardianship and quiet strength. Long before the first classes begin across the campuses of New Horizon Educational Institution, its support teams embody the same spirit of quiet dedication. They work early each morning to secure the gates, maintain the grounds, and keep daily operations running seamlessly.

The true culture of an organisation shows in how deeply it values the people behind this crucial daily work. For NHEI, employee care is a lived promise of gratitude, respect, and spiritual reverence. This year marks the continuation of a cherished tradition with the third annual institutional Yatra. What began in 2023 with the inaugural Do Dham Yatra honouring long-serving staff and continued last year with the journey to Dwarka and Somnath has now expanded into a massive effort. Over 450 staff members with seven or more years of service are embarking on a sacred pilgrimage to Ayodhya and Kashi to celebrate years of dedication and shared belonging.

Two recent groups which embarked on this journey brought together key members of the campus operations team from New Horizon College of Engineering, New Horizon College, Marathahalli, New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, New Horizon Pre-University College, New Horizon Public School and New Horizon Gurukul. The cohorts included housekeeping personnel, security officers, drivers, electricians, sound technicians, and maintenance supervisors. Travelling across two unified groups, these teams experienced a journey planned with deep care and respect at every step. From comfortable flights and air-conditioned travel to serene accommodations, priority temple passes, and full buffet spreads, management ensured the staff could set aside daily worries and fully immerse themselves in sacred experiences.

Among the pilgrims was Mr. Chandrashekar P, Security Officer at New Horizon College of Engineering. Chandrashekhar Sir carried a lifetime of discipline and quiet faith into the trip, having served 25 years in the Indian Army before joining our institution in 2014. Even past his retirement age, he continues to serve after the Chairman of NHEI personally insisted he stay on with the institution. He last stood on the holy grounds of Ayodhya back in 1988-89, when the site was vastly different, and the grand temple was still a distant dream. To him, being in the serene spot decades later through NHEI’s organised Yatra felt like completing a circle of fate. “Visiting the Ram Mandir for the darshan of Lord Rama felt like I was seeing Him in person,” he shared, describing the overwhelming divine grace of that moment. Thoughtful planning allowed the group to bypass long queues and enjoy peaceful darshans across the holy precincts. 

From the divine aura of Ayodhya, the journey flowed into the timeless, living spiritual heart of Kashi and the historic grounds of Sarnath. Away from the daily rhythms of campus life, colleagues bonded over shared prayers, quiet reflection, and the simple joy of breaking bread together. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the journey, relishing regional delicacies and many conversations. Standing together on the ghats as dusk fell, watching the vibrant 6.30 pm Ganga Aarti light up the river amidst the echo of chants, professional ties transformed into deep spiritual bonds. 

Upon returning to Bengaluru, the teams met briefly with Chairman Sir, Dr. Mohan Manghnani. Their post-trip interaction provided a quiet space for staff members to share their personal highlights and express their heartfelt appreciation for making the pilgrimage possible. 

In the end, the Yatra touched hearts in ways no one had fully anticipated. The sacred atmosphere and divinity of the journey served as a gentle reminder that those who diligently build New Horizon every day are deeply cherished, leaving each traveller with a memory to carry in their heart for a lifetime.
