New Horizon College of Engineering organised an engaging NCC orientation programme on September 22nd 2026 to introduce students to the values, activities, and opportunities associated with the National Cadet Corps (NCC). The programme began with an informative PowerPoint presentation that covered various aspects of NCC, including its uniform and caps, discipline, training, parades, camps, and notable achievements. The presentation helped students understand how NCC builds leadership, confidence, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility among cadets. 

An interactive quiz session added excitement to the programme, encouraging students to participate actively and test their knowledge about NCC. Goodies were distributed to the participants, making the session even more enjoyable. 

The NCC stall was another major attraction. Students explored the rifle display and participated in the Campus Map Challenge, an activity designed to test their observation and navigation skills. The Knot Quest activity introduced students to basic knot-tying skills and created an opportunity for hands-on learning. 

The programme received enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Principal Dr. Manjunatha encouraged the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the organisers. Anusuya Ma’am, Srikanth, HoD – Mechanical, and ANO Lt. Ravi Kumar also supported and encouraged the programme. Overall, the event successfully created awareness about NCC and inspired students to learn more about its activities and opportunities.
