Independence Day 2026

The Independence Day celebration at New Horizon College of Engineering was held with immense patriotism. The programme began with everyone singing the National Song, Vande Mataram. The NCC parade marched to the beats of Sare Jahan Se Achha.
The Chief Guest, Lt. Col. Satyaranjan Panda, was welcomed on stage alongside the Registrar, Mr. H. N. Suryaprakash, followed by the Principal, Dr. Manjunatha. The national flag was then gloriously hoisted.
In his address, the Chief Guest spoke about the brief history of India’s struggle for independence. He spoke highly of Bhagat Singh, who sacrificed his life at the tender age of 23. He urged everyone to be Indians in thought and spirit and to work towards building a progressive nation. He concluded his speech by quoting, “The woods are lovely, dark and deep. And I have miles to go before I sleep.” His address deeply inspired the audience, drawing applause and cheers at several points.
The Principal, Dr. Manjunatha addressed the students and urged them to work sincerely for the nation. The cultural programmes set the stage ablaze. Students from the Music Club rendered patriotic pieces, while the Dance Club presented a dance drama depicting the life of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a rendition of the National Anthem. Peanut chikkis were distributed across the campus as part of the celebrations marking India’s 80th Independence Day.
