Hidden Gems – A Staff Events Competition



In commemoration of its illustrious Silver Jubilee, New Horizon College of Engineering orchestrated a splendid array of cultural engagements, each imbued with refinement and celebratory fervour. Among these, Hidden Gems emerged as a particularly captivating initiative. An ode to the oft-unseen talents of the institution’s devoted staff. True to its evocative title, it became a latent artistry was unveiled and celebrated with due grandeur.
Over the course of several weeks, the campus resonated with creativity as participants immersed themselves in a diverse spectrum of competitions. From eloquent recitations and spirited stand-up comedy to mellifluous solo singing, graceful solo dancing, and synchronised group performances, the breadth of expression proved both impressive and inspiring. Esteemed judges, each a connoisseur in their respective disciplines, were invited to lend their discerning expertise, ensuring that every performance was appraised with both rigour and appreciation.
A particularly distinctive highlight was the Fireless Cooking competition, adjudicated by a distinguished expert. In an exquisite display of ingenuity, participants crafted culinary delights devoid of flame or electricity. Each presentation was a visual and gastronomic marvel, meticulously arranged, vibrant in palette, and rich in nutritional thoughtfulness. Participants eloquently articulated the nuances of their creations, generously offering samples to judges and colleagues alike. The atmosphere was one of animated curiosity, as attendees traversed from one station to another, sampling regional delicacies and exchanging insights. The event stood as a testament to the harmonious confluence of innovation, health-consciousness, and aesthetic presentation.
Equally enchanting was the Rangoli competition, thoughtfully aligned with the Silver Jubilee theme. Participants approached their designs with meticulous precision, often sketching intricate patterns before bringing them to life with vivid hues. The interplay of coloured powders yielded resplendent creations that seemed almost animate in their vibrancy. Each rangoli bore the hallmark of patience, artistry, and a deep sense of celebration, transforming the space into a gallery of colourful masterpieces.
In its entirety, Hidden Gems not only illuminated the multifaceted talents of the staff but also fostered a spirit of camaraderie and collective pride, an embodiment of the institution’s enduring legacy and its steadfast commitment to holistic excellence. As anticipation continues to mount, the forthcoming Fashion Show and the much-awaited Mr. and Ms. Horizon promises to add further splendour to this grand celebration.
