Five-Day Certificate Course on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

Objectives and Scope
The program aims to educate participants—including faculty, researchers, and students—on the critical aspects of protecting innovation and navigating the complexities of intellectual property. Key focus areas typically include:

Understanding patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs.

Navigating the process of filing IPR applications.

Exploring the role of innovation in academic and industrial research.

Aligning institutional research projects with national and global IP frameworks.

Organizing Bodies
The course is a collaborative initiative bringing together academic expertise and state-level scientific leadership:

R&D IPR Cell – New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE): Driving research, development, and IP awareness within the campus.

Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST): A premier state council bringing external expertise, currently celebrating its own Golden Jubilee milestone.

Supported by: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) (a Ministry of Education initiative) and the AICTE IDEA Lab, ensuring the curriculum aligns with national innovation standards.
