The Pitchback event organised by New Horizon College of Engineering on 11 April 2026 was a resounding success. The event brought together 22 alumni entrepreneurs, each presenting innovative start-up ideas to a panel of investors, including Ekara Financials and GrapePay. The college also announced a cash prize of ₹1,00,000 for the winning team, adding to the excitement and competitive spirit of the occasion.

Ekara Financials made a remarkable on-the-spot funding commitment of ₹1 crore to STEMxIndia, a start-up focused on robotics. In addition, they shortlisted five more ventures for further discussions, with potential funding ranging between ₹2 lakh and ₹10 lakh, subject to mutually agreed terms. GrapePay also demonstrated strong interest by shortlisting six start-up ideas and indicating investment in the range of ₹1 lakh to ₹8 lakh for the final selected ventures.

The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the alumni, who appreciated the initiative taken by their alma mater and expressed interest in having such events conducted annually. The investors were equally impressed by the quality and innovation of the ideas presented and indicated their willingness to continue investing in promising start-ups emerging from the institution.

This successful event was a collaborative effort between the Innovation Cell and the Alumni Association, marking a significant step towards fostering entrepreneurship and strengthening alumni engagement.
