Intra-Institutional Startup Competition

The Department of Management Studies, ED & Startup Club, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organised the Intra-Institutional Startup Competition on 9th and 10th July 2026. The two-day event aimed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and encourage students to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

Student teams from various departments actively participated by presenting creative and well-structured business ideas. The competition provided a platform for participants to apply concepts such as opportunity identification, market analysis, value proposition design, and financial planning. Through the preparation of business plans and live pitching sessions, students gained valuable experiential learning and practical entrepreneurial exposure.

The event also enhanced essential skills, including teamwork, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation abilities. Distinguished jury members, including Dr. Priya Thomas, Dr. Sonia Marie Dsouza, and Dr. Sudhakiran Ponnuru, evaluated the presentations and provided constructive feedback. Their multidisciplinary insights enabled participants to refine their business models and strengthen their strategic approaches.

The competition witnessed the emergence of several innovative business ideas with strong commercial and social impact potential. Participants demonstrated significant improvement in business planning, market validation, financial analysis, and pitching skills. The top-performing teams were identified for further mentoring, incubation opportunities, and participation in higher-level startup competitions.

Overall, the event successfully fostered a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup readiness among students while further strengthening the institution’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
