The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in association with the Skill Development Centre at New Horizon College of Engineering, organised a 3-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Generative AI to Agentic AI: Designing Intelligent, Context-Aware Educational Systems” from 12th to 14th August 2026. The programme explored the evolution of AI from generative models to autonomous, agent-based systems in education, offering faculty hands-on exposure to Prompt Engineering, Context Engineering, Multimodal AI, Intelligent Agents, and AI-powered educational workflows. Sessions covered topics such as Deep Learning, NLP, RAG, rapid AI application prototyping, and building educational agents with Claude Skills, along with a strong emphasis on Responsible AI, data privacy, and the ethical integration of AI into teaching, research, assessment, and personalised learning. The FDP featured eminent resource persons from Infosys, Aptiv, Dell Technologies, Sandisk, and Avsar, and aimed to equip in-house faculty with practical AI tools and skills to enhance teaching, research, and academic innovation.
