Deepavali is the festival of lights and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, the triumph of good over evil, and new beginnings. The lights of Deepavali signify a time to destroy all our dark desires and thoughts, eradicate dark shadows and evils, and give us the strength and the zeal to carry on with our goodwill for the rest of the year. Deepavali is the day Lord Rama, his wife Sita Devi, and brother Lakshmana returned to their homeland Ayodhya after 14 years in exile and defeated the demon king Ravana. Lakshmi Puja performed during Deepavali, holds immense significance. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi visits every home during Deepavali to bless them with prosperity and wealth. As such, Deepavali becomes the most auspicious day for invoking her divine presence.

New Horizon College of Engineering celebrated Deepotsav at the NHCE campus on 08th November 2023. The college campus was decorated colorfully with flowers and lights.The program started at 6.00pmwith the welcoming of all the dignitaries, and the lighting of the lamp by the Chairman Sir. The invocation dance performed by a student was followed by a speech on the significance of Deepavali delivered by afirst-year engineering student. The formal inaugural concluded and the in-house DJs played some peppy fusion numbers to get the crowd dancing and celebrating the festive spirit. Fireworks were displayed at the campus &and there were so many bright colors and loud bangs.

The celebration ended with the DJ night and live music concert, where the students and staff members danced to the tunes of the best DJ music by Acoustic Saga– A Bollywood and multilingual Band.
