About IEEE NHCE (Student Branch Chapter/ WIE/ Affinity Group)
IEEE WIE is one of the world’s leaders in changing the face of engineering. Our global network connects over 36,000 members in over 100 countries to advance women in technology at all points in their lives and careers. IEEE WIE members make lifelong friendships, acquire influential mentors, and make a difference for the benefit of humanity. It is a global network of IEEE members and volunteers dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering and science.
The IEEE NHCE WIE Affinity Group strives to achieve the same for the women at our institution.
OBJECTIVES
- Empower Women in Engineering and Technology – Foster an inclusive environment that supports women’s growth, leadership, and visibility in STEM fields.
- Expand Global Outreach and Community Engagement – Strengthen IEEE WIE’s presence in underrepresented regions by collaborating with organizations to provide resources and opportunities.
- Encourage Young Girls to Pursue STEM Careers – Inspire and support young girls through mentorship, workshops, and STEM education initiatives.
- Foster Professional Development and Leadership Growth – Provide career-building opportunities, technical training, networking, and leadership programs for women in engineering.
- Advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – Promote policies and initiatives that ensure equal opportunities, address workplace challenges, and create a supportive environment for women.
- Promote Research and Innovation in STEM Fields – Recognize and support women researchers while encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing in science and technology.

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is committed to advancing women in technical disciplines by fostering an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment that enables them to thrive. We strive to recruit, retain, and elevate women in STEM through mentorship, professional development, leadership opportunities, and global outreach. Our mission is to bridge gender gaps, drive innovation, and create a diverse and equitable future in engineering, science, and technology.
