New Horizon College of Engineering celebrated International Day of YOGA on 21.06.2022. The YOGA session was organized for all the students and faculty members. The session started with an opening prayer by Yogacharya Dr. Arvinda followed by a speech about the importance of yoga, its origin and how it benefits a person to increase concentration and memory and overall well-being. The practical session of YOGA was started by Dr. Arvinda with a warmup exercises like eye movements, neck movements and hand movements. Next, Dr. Suma, yoga therapist handled the yogasana session. Simple and more effective yoga asanas like Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Uttanasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Vajrasana and different asanas were taught to the students and faculty members. Later, different pranayamas like Nadi shuddhi and Brahmari pranayama were taught. The session ended with a closing prayer “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” followed by National Anthem.
